Gloria I. Rivera

Program Support Coordinator , EBFEN

Gloria joined East Boston Social Center as a Program Support Coordinator, Every Child Shines in June 2022.  Gloria is very excited to be able to work hand in hand with East Boston families sharing her skills and talents gained over the years. As a single mother, she has faced various difficulties. One of the biggest challenges was raising four children of which three have special needs (ADHD and on the Autism spectrum).  This motivated her to pursue trainings on working with children with special needs to learn how to best support their development.

Gloria was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Boston in search of better resources and treatment for her children's conditions. As a basic computer teacher, she had the opportunity to work with Latinx and low-income families. She has also worked with children and families as a Parent Partner at BPS, learning about the different tools and resources to help build resilience in families.
